1. Natural beauty

Make the most of the naturally beautiful British countryside and hold your reception in a location that your guests are unlikely to have seen. Fields, lakeside, coastal or woodland settings all provide fantastic views and a great backdrop for your wedding photos.

2. Let your imagination run wild!

Most outdoor venues will offer you the opportunity to hire the space and use whichever suppliers you choose. The possibilities are endless; marquee, tipi, yurt, stretch tent, open air, whatever the style of your wedding these venues are incredibly versatile with options of floor plan, carpeting, drapes, lighting - you really can create a unique wedding.

3. No need to cut your invite list down

Are we getting more popular? No need to be restricted on numbers - outdoor venues will often be able to accommodate more guests – with many allowing up to 500.

4. Make it a weekend affair

Don’t want your wedding to end, fancy a festival style wedding? Hire one of the many outdoor sites with accompanying accommodation - glamping, bell tents and yurts all provide comfortable accommodation for you and your guests. Some will even create a ‘bridal suite’ so you can relax under the stars and party the night away.

5. Keep costs down

If you’re planning a wedding on a budget outdoor venues usually don’t charge corkage and with a bit of imagination you can create a really pretty wedding taking advantage of the natural beauty around you.

6. Reduce your carbon footprint

We’re all getting more environmentally conscious and by hiring an outdoor venue you have much more control over your carbon footprint – you could provide tractor rides for groups of guests from the ceremony, use environmentally friendly suppliers or use recycled or up-cycled goods. As many outdoor venues are based on farms not only will you be supporting a local farmer, many provide locally produced organic food for your wedding breakfast.

7. Cater for all your guests

Outdoor sites are usually big. With acres of unspoilt beautiful land don’t be limited to one marquee, why not add a chill out tent where guests can relax away from the loud music, a games area or a separate bar area? If you’re having children at your wedding it’s really easy to provide games such as giant Jenga or noughts and crosses, although with all that space they’ll probably be too busy playing tag!
